Viewers were left feeling heartbroken during Monday’s episode of MKR, as fan favourite team Simone and Viviana served up their bold menu at their Ultimate Instant Restaurant. The best friends from QLD, dubbed the ‘Modern Italians’ have won favour with viewers throughout the competition thanks to their humble natures and undeniable talent in the kitchen.
Despite their incredible skills, it was a tough night for the popular team as their menu was deemed hit and miss by their guests and judges Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel. The pressure was particularly high for the pair following their first triumphant Instant Kitchen where they were awarded the highest scores in MKR history.
The main course was particularly hard for Simone and Viviana, with Manu expressing disappointment in their pappardelle and Colin being underwhelmed by the undercooked rice in their risotto.
“This challenge is destroying. It destroys your mind,” she said through tears,
“We’re not professional, amore, we’re home cooks. This is hard,” Simone empathetically replied.
Fans heartbroken over Simone and Viviana’s cook
Fans rushed to social media to show support for the pair, with most of them saying they hope they will win the series.

The sympathy continued on Facebook with comments such as:
“I think we all felt their pain.”
“My heart was breaking for them tonight. I totally love these guys.”
“This was heartbreaking to watch… I’m glad they finished on a high… my fav team.”
And “It’s heartbreaking watching the critiques for Simone and Viviana tonight.”
It was more of the same over on X as fans shared their wishes that the friends will make it through.

The best friends from Queensland climbed to the top of the leaderboard with a total score of 104 out of 110, including a near-perfect 58 out of 60 from judges Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge.
