The finale event was marked by the return of former coach Keith Urban, who performed his latest single ‘Messed Up As Me’. Coach Adam Lambert also took to the stage to open the show with his hit single ‘Whataya Want from Me.’
Each of the contestants then wowed the audience with their spectacular performances as the public was urged to send in their votes via text.
LeAnn Rimes and Reuben sang a beautiful rendition of Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’ before Reuben performed ‘House of the Rising Sun’ by The Animals. The FIFO worker and dad of three has previously said that winning The Voice and the 100k prize would mean being able to get out of the mines and dedicate more time to his growing family.

“I never thought I’d get this far, this is crazy,” Reuben said of his win.
“I’m so proud,” LeAnn said. “You deserve every bit of this moment and I’m so honoured that I could be on this journey with you. You are incredible.”
The Voice performances wow fans
Earlier in the night, Skÿe hit the stage to sing the iconic track ‘Iris’ by the Goo Goo Dolls, with LeAnn praising him that he had served the song up in such an original way. The Melbourne native, who first appeared on the reality show back in 2015 under his birth name Nicolas Duquemin, then sang ‘Against All Odds’ by Phil Collins as his duet with Guy Sebastian.

Meanwhile, Annie Jones sang ‘Youngblood’ by Five Seconds of Summer as her solo and Barracuda by Heart for her duet with Adam Lambert and Jaedyn performed Empire of the Sun’s ‘Walking on a Dream’ as a duet with Kate-Miller Heidke and then ‘Snow Angel’ by Renee Rapp.
While all performances were incredible, the public chose Reuben as the 2024 Voice champ. He will now receive $100,000 in prize money, an industry recording development package, and a music masterclass.
The Voice viewers not happy with voting process
Fans of the show have previously expressed concern over the voting process, taking to social media to express their feelings about who would win the series.

“Reuben SHOULD win by a landslide, but I don’t trust the process,” one worried fan said, with a bunch of people agreeing with them. “Has my vote the rest are all the wrong people in the final,” another said. “Absolutely brilliant, beautiful and if you [Reuben] don’t win, well it’s all setup and fake,” someone else commented.
Some people, however, believed that Skye from Team Guy had the show in the bag. “[It’s] obvious he wins. The promo ads he’s been doing are clearly for a reason. Also kinda rigged,” one person speculated. “We know Skye wins. Can we just get to the end already,” another said.
Viewers have also begged Channel Seven to bring back the live shows so that the public could vote not just on the grand finale night but throughout the majority of the competition.
“Seriously, Channel 7, I have said this before – bring back the live shows…it is so unfair for the contestants when the judges have to pick,” they wrote. “And we, as the viewers, 9 times out of 10 don’t agree with their choices,” one person wrote on Facebook to a flurry of responses from people who agreed.
