The Block
‘s “unfair” prize money rule has been revealed, and we’re not sure we agree with this one.

By now, it’s no secret that “villains” Paige Beechey and Jesse Maguire sensationally quit the show due to “mental health struggles“, causing sisters Charlotte and Maddy Harry to take over House One.

Since joining the show, the newbie team have had a tough run, with fans slamming their co-stars for “bullying” them.

Despite this, an insider told Yahoo Lifestyle that the girls generously offered to split their profits with Jesse and Paige. However, this idea was shut down.

“Producers have advised them that it’s in their contract that they can’t split money with other contestants,” the source dished. “The reason is that it promotes collusion, which could affect future seasons.”

The insider added that most competition shows don’t allow contestants to “make agreements to split prize money” because doing so creates an “unfair advantage” for the other competitors.

“[A couple leaving midseason] is a first for the show,” they said. “But [Jesse and Paige] were very much made aware of forfeiting the profits of House One in Phillip Island.”

Fair enough!
