In a recent episode of the show ‘NBA Countdown on ESPN,’ Malika Andrews, the show’s host, asked Adrian Wojnarowski, senior NBA insider for ESPN, for an update on Jason Kidd’s extension with the Dallas Mavericks and an update on the Los Angeles Lakers coaching search.

Malika Andrews: Remember, the winner of the game is a huge indicator of who wins the entire series. They go on to do so 74% of the time.

The coaching carousel just keeps on turning. NBA insider is here.

Mike Budenholzer agreed to a deal with the Phoenix Suns to be their next head coach and someone else to cross off of the list.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Well, Jason Kidd. Dallas announced a new contract for him this week.

I am told that is an additional two years on to a contract that already included next season.

He is three wins away from his second conference finals in potentially three seasons.

That takes [Jason Kidd] certainly off of the Lakers’ wishlist. The Lakers’ search is going to ramp up this week.

You can expect them to start calling for permission to talk to coaches and assistants around the leagues.

However, one name that the Lakers have been drawing down on their initial research is JJ Redick.

Who is the best contender to be the next Lakers head coach?

The Los Angeles Lakers are currently dealing with the aftermath of their disappointing loss against the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs.

As a result, the team has made the difficult decision to fire all their coaching staff, including head coach Darvin Ham.

This has left NBA fans wondering who will fill the vacancy. NBA analysts are still debating who will coach the Lakers in the upcoming season.

Regarding this matter, Wojnarowski has suggested that JJ Redick is a potential contender for the head coach position of the Lakers.

There is good compatibility between JJ Redick and LeBron James, as evidenced by James’ recent appearance on Redick’s podcast, where he discussed the Lakers’ loss to the Denver Nuggets.

This has led to speculation that Redick may be a potential candidate to become the next head coach for the Lakers.
