The Block fans are curious to see how each of this year’s teams will perform at the auctions on Saturday, which will air on Sunday.

Former contestants on The Block have revealed to Yahoo Lifestyle why the auctions were one of the ‘most ludicrous’ experiences of their lives. As this year’s contestants prepare for their auctions on Saturday to air on Sunday night, previous contestants say they shouldn’t be getting too excited by the possibilities that producers have spoken about throughout the experience, saying they are really ’empty promises’.
“You hear so much about what could happen, and yet the answers were all there in front of us the whole time,” one previous contestant tells us. “We should have known what was coming but we got distracted by the way producers planted seeds – that we should have known were empty promises.”
They continue, “There are some tell-tale signs we shouldn’t have ignored but in retrospect most of the plans were already put in place and it was like there were explosives already lit – well before we sat in the make-up chair on auction day.”
One former Block contestant said it wouldn’t be a surprise if Kylie and Brad’s house gets passed in or makes no money. Photo: Nine
They add that some contestants shouldn’t be getting too excited by the auctions, saying, “I would go as far as saying the writing is on the wall for some contestants this year. Kylie and Brad should be preparing to make no money, and they should be telling their friends and family to stay at home in Cairns. Better yet – don’t even watch the show on Sunday night.”
While they don’t think Kylie and Brad will have a successful night, they did have something positive to say about Courtney and Grant, saying, “While on the other hand, Courtney and Grant should already start their ‘Modern-Mediterranean’ home styling company and put their deposit on a head office,” suggesting that “this is where the edit is sitting at the moment.”
‘All eyes should be on Adrian Portelli’, says on Block contestant

Another former contestant adds, “All eyes should be on Adrian Portelli.”
“Adrian has been out at the Channel Nine PR events and has RSVP’d,” they add. “That already suggests he going to be a big player in the final auction. From what I am told, his name is on the tip of everyone lips that is facing this week’s big auction.”
“He certainly will be contemplating buying all the houses but the unknown answer is how much will they all go for.”
‘Will walk away empty handed’
The former contestant tells us, “The overall edit starts to change as the season comes to an end and the contestants Australia want to see win will win and the contestants Australia have been made to think aren’t deserving will walk away empty handed. It is 100 per cent curated.”
“It will be more than coincidental if Kyle and Brad, who had the most interesting storylines, have a young family that actually needs the money, have their house passed in,” another concerned former contestant says. “Can a bad edit affect your outcome? I think so.

“Even a person from inside Channel Nine told us, ‘the ending was getting boring, with everyone winning a few years back’ and ‘finales’ are way better TV when some get millions and some get nothing. It was said to us like they actually have control of the wind in the sails.”
The contestant spills on a “huge story” from a few seasons back, where “one person at the centre of ‘the scandal’ was pressured by producers to spill on what really happened during the season in a live TV moment. Which they did.”
“[This year’s contestants] could easily be heading down that path and Channel Nine do a great job of wrapping up storylines that still have loose ends,” they explain. “It is obvious to everyone that there are some big storylines still unanswered, maybe they will miraculously unearthed.”
“The producers will tell you they have no idea how the day will all play out but we [former contestants] have all swapped notes and some producers were obviously enjoying the fact their scheming plans all came together.”
