A ripped James Argent showcased the results of his 14st weight loss in Slough on Thursday when he flexed his biceps while playing Padel with John Terry.

The event singer, 36, stripped down to his white vest and wore black Nike shorts and a funky pair of trainers to play the increasingly popular racket sport, which is likened to a cross between tennis and squash and is played in doubles.

Under his coach’s watchful eye, Arg, who soared to fame on TOWIE in 2010, showed impressive form and swung a powerful forearm towards John, 43, in Slough.

The former England and Chelsea captain looked fit in a black T-shirt and shorts and white Nike socks and white trainers.

Arg has worked hard to keep off the 14st he lost with gastric band surgery in 2021 after tipping the scales at 27st at his heaviest.

A shirtless Arg again displayed his trim figure when he stripped off for an ice bath during his trip to Dubai to see fellow TOWIE alum Joey Essex.

He took to his Instagram Stories to display his toned physique in skimpy swimming trunks before plunging beneath the freezing water.

It comes after Arg revealed he is now trying to gain weight to MailOnline’s podcast Straight To The Comments!

Arg explained: ‘I think you’ve got to be quite careful, if it’s about someone looking healthy. I used to say to myself: “The more weight you lose the better”, so, “The skinnier you are, the better”, but that isn’t actually the case because there are times when you’re too skinny.’

He added: ‘And even now I’m trying to up my protein a little bit and trying to gain a little bit more.’

In January, Arg shared with Lorraine the secret of maintaining weight loss as he celebrated two years of sobriety.

Host Lorraine Kelly said: ‘Not only have you lost [the weight], you’ve done the brilliant thing, you’ve kept it off, because that’s the hardest thing in the world.’

Arg confirmed: ‘I’ve managed to keep it off,’ before Lorraine continued: ‘You look at that person and think “I don’t recognise that”.’

The reality star said: ‘I’ve got a healthy relationship with both food and exercise. I said to myself when I started the weight loss journey that it was going to be forever.

In January 2023, Arg underwent more surgery to remove loose skin, and the procedure left him in ‘agony’.

He told MailOnline in February: ‘I am confident in the bedroom now… regardless of whether it’s romantically or by a beach or in clothes, across the board I am more confident now in all of those areas…

‘Whether you’re a man or woman or have a dream body from the outside, everyone has certain parts of their body they wish they could improve, or they don’t like no matter who you are…

‘I am body confident now. Don’t get me wrong I still want to improve and get into the gym and tone up more, but I’ll absolutely be confident when summer rolls around…

‘I went from 27 stone to 14 stone, so I lost 13 stone… I hit my target weight but if I wanted to wear a tight-fitting top, I would feel conscious because of my excess skin around my tummy and sides.’

‘I knew that with skin there was nothing I could do with diet or exercise. I wanted to still feel confident naked or around the swimming pool.’

Arg said in April: ‘At my biggest I was 27 stone. I took the p***. Now I’m about 13.5 stone,’ he said.

‘I think I was just acting out on feelings and emotions, eating and eating and then lockdown, Covid, that didn’t help.’

He revealed his doctor told him he was ‘on death row’ when he was at his heaviest, during which time he ‘couldn’t tie my own shoelaces’ and was ‘finding it hard to breathe.’

James also admitted he wasn’t even able to see his own penis, and joked: ‘I can just about see it now.’

Being the lead singer for the Arg Band is now the star’s ‘full-time job’ and it’s going well – the group have gigged up and down the country – and even on This Morning.

The band played at Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan’s housewarming party extravanga, ‘Marcella’.

He shot to fame in 2010 as an original cast member of The Only Way Is Essex which is currently airing its thirty-second series.
