After a months-long hiatus, Taylor Swift just kicked off four nights in Paris as The Eras Tour hits Europe!
The shows comes on the heels of her new album “The Tortured Poets Department,” which dropped April 19.
Changes were noticeable right from the beginning, as she modified the show’s intro, which runs through all of her eras, to include a snippet of the song “The Tortured Poets Department.”

The star took the stage in a new look, debuting an orange “Lover” bodysuit and sparkly new orange “The Man” jacket. Taylor also told the crowd the show would span 18 years of music, a bump up from the 16 she covered previously.
Her first set dropped “Archer” to make room for new music later in the show. Swift also renovated the “Lover” house to make room for “TTPD.”
She then moved on to her “Fearless” set with another new look, trading in her gold look for a silver-and-black minidress reminiscent of a look from her 2009 Fearless Tour.

Taylor then headed into “Red,” which was traditionally her sixth set. During that portion of the show, she debuted a new shirt during “22” that read, “This Is Not Taylor’s Version.”
She teased the crowd as she gushed, “This crowd is just my favorite type of crowd. You are a crowd of dreams! … And it makes us want to show you all kinds of surprises, that’s what it makes us want to do.”

Swift followed up with her “Speak Now” set, but cut “Long Live,” performing only “Enchanted.”
She then launched into her “Reputation” era, where her bodysuit with one peekaboo leg was seemingly unchanged.
Taylor combined her 2020 albums “Folklore” and “Evermore” into one set, telling fans, “I have always talked about ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’ being sister albums… So, on the Eras tour, we have now reunited the sisters, combined them into one chapter, and you can call it ‘Everlore,’ you can call it the sister albums, you can call it anything you want, as long as you promise to sing ‘Champagne Problems’ with me.”
She took out “The One” and “The Last Great American Dynasty,” from “Folklore” and also cut “Tolerate It” and “‘Tis the Damn Season” from “Evermore.”
Next was “1989,” featuring another new look. This one was a midriff-baring pink crop top and blue skirt, which she matched to one blue shoe and one pink shoe.
Swift then debuted her new “The Tortured Poets Department” set, which included “But Daddy I Love Him,” “So High School” (snippet), “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me,” “Down Bad,” “Fortnight,” “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart.”
She wore a white dress with song lyrics written in cursive on the skirt for the era, which she referred to as “Female Rage: The Musical.”
She powerfully performed “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” on a moving platform, belting out, “I was tame, I was gentle ’til the circus life made me mean / Don’t you worry, folks, we took out all her teeth / Who’s afraid of little old me? / Well, you should be.”
“So High School” is believed to be about her romance with Travis Kelce, and there were nods to that, as Taylor and her dancers sat on stairs staged as bleachers and even hit the “Swag Surfin'” dance move she did at one of his games.
In a theatrical moment before “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart,” a listless Taylor shrugs off the dress to reveal a sequined black bra top and matching high-waisted bottoms. Her dancers help her into a sparkly gold coat before launching into the song, which is about hiding heartbreak while performing. (“Lights, camera, b*tch, smile!”)
The “TTPD” set also included a dramatic marching band moment during “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and an alien space ship appearing above her during “Down Bad.”

Taylor’s acoustic song selections for the evening were “Paris” (because, duh!) and “loml,” which is from “Tortured Poets.”
Before performing “Paris” on guitar, she told the crowd, “There’s a song that I’ve been wanting to play in the acoustic set on the Eras Tour ever since I wrote it, and I was only going to play it for the first time in one specific city.”
She finished the show with her “Midnights” set as per usual, though in a new bodysuit with more keyhole cutouts.

The show was the first of four nights in a row that Taylor will play at Paris’ La Défense Arena.
Her BF Travis Kelce was not on hand for the first show, though he did send support by commenting on a post from Taylor’s band member Paul Sidoti to say, “Lfg!!!” We’ll have to stay tuned to see if he makes it to any of the three remaining Paris shows!
