Absurd events are nothing new in the NBA universe. From lighthearted banter to contentious ventures, the league frequently finds itself embroiled in first-time happenings. Shaquille O’Neal recently related a story about a ridiculous yet humorous relationship in his life.

During the most recent episode of The Big Podcast, the 52-year-old acknowledged that he had once worked out intensely just to get sweaty for a commercial. As he stated, the ultimate objective of this absurd partnership was to transform the perspiration into perfume.

“Somebody tried to use my sweat for perfume. I had to do like 1000 hours of working out and they collected the sweat and they brought back the perfume…And it was gonna be called Elliuqahs. That’s my name spelled backward. The Essence of Elliuqahs”.

The collaborators were greatly disappointed with the findings, which did not meet their expectations.

When thinking back on the scent from the most recent performance, “The Diesel” even likened the cologne to “Dog s**t.” For the benefit of both the human species and themselves, they so abandoned this undertaking.

Regardless of how absurd this tale seemed, there was still a good chance that it would come to pass. The four-time winner has, after all, related this incident on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon before. Furthermore, the 2000 MVP had revealed much more information at that time, saying,

“Well, I had a guy come in one time…he was a scientist. He said, ‘Before we get started, I need two things from you…I need a urine sample and a sweat sample…I wanna make cologne, I wanna call it The Big DNA”’.

This encapsulated Shaq’s well-known willingness to try anything once. It also demonstrated his readiness to look for economic prospects in uncharted territory. Both of these traits greatly benefited him during his career, which helped him amass fortune that would last generations.

Even for someone like Shaq, though, this particular partnership was a little too much. However, it appeared that the NBA legend had learnt nothing from it, as seen by his subsequent ludicrous relationships.
