The Block auctions are taking place on Saturday to air on Sunday, and there is no doubt that every team will be nervous. According to Yahoo Lifestyle readers, Maddy and Charlotte of House 1 are set to come out on top, with 49 per cent of people saying they think they’ll win.

Their nearest competitor is House 3’s Ricky and Haydn with 19 per cent of votes, followed by Courtney and Grant at House 2 with 16 per cent, then Kristian and Mimi with House 5 at 13 per cent, and Kylie and Brad of House 4 are sadly at the bottom with just 4 per cent of the votes.

Yahoo Lifestyle readers predicted last year that Steph and Gian would take out the win, so perhaps Maddy and Charlotte have this year in the bag? Interestingly, Domain has revealed to Yahoo Lifestyle that the order of popularity of the listings is as follows:

House 1 – Maddy and Charlotte
House 4 – Kylie and Brad
House 3 – Ricky and Haydn
House 2 – Courtney and Grant
House 5 – Kristian and Mimi

According to National Property Editor for Domain, Alice Stolz, the sisters’ house could be a winner with the majority of people, but she also sees Ricky and Haydn doing well on auction day.

“I think the boys’ house will likely to do well, I think having that boat is kind of a game changer,” Alice tells us. “I also think, feedback I’m hearing, is the proximity of their where their house is at the end of that cul de sac is quite appealing.”

She adds that their house is like “being in Luna Park”, saying, “They have got everything, it is non-stop fun.”

Alice also says that having the Barcrusher boat is also a massive win for the boys, which buyers will no doubt love.

Speaking about Maddy and Charlotte’s house, she says, “There’s something about House One that’s really, really wonderful, and it feels spacious, wide. And I think having that [extra] entrance is absolutely genius.”

But one house really caught Alice’s eye: “Personally, if someone has gifted me a house, I love Courtney’s home for styling. House 2 is just beautiful. I really love an interesting, distinctive style. But I do also know, after years of doing this, that many buyers prefer the neutrality of probably like a House One, a bit more, a bit more sort of accessible, I guess, to many different people.”

Alice also says there’s something “really special” about the view from House 5, and speaking about House 4, she says, “I mean House Four – that massive indoor kitchen, living area. No one walks in that house and is not like, ‘Oh my god, this is incredible.’ The breadth of that house is something to behold.”

She also shares that because Brad put in a door to the communal tennis court from their property, it feels like it’s theirs, adding even more wow factor to their house.

“That looks really adds a big cherry on top to that property, just having the proximity of it,” she tells us.
