“Also, I don’t think it’s recommended for kids.”
Australian Survivor 2022‘s Sophie Cachia has raised concerns after drinking Kava while holidaying in Fiji; a substance said to be dangerous to pregnant women.
Sophie, who also founded sleepwear brand Cachia, recently jetted overseas with her seven-year-old daughter, Florence, for some much-needed mother-daughter time.
The trip followed the mum-of-two’s announcement in July that she’s expecting her third child. She also has a 10-year-old son, Bobby.

Given her recent life announcement, onlookers were a smidge baffled to see her and her daughter consuming the drug on her holiday, as reported in episode 412 of the So Dramatic! podcast.
“Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but Sophie Cachia is in Fiji and posted her daughter drinking Kava, which is like alcohol and definitely not for kids,” one user wrote to host Megan Pustetto.
“Also, I don’t think it’s recommended for kids.”
What is Kava, the beverage Survivor‘s Sophie Cachia was drinking in Fiji?
While Kava does not contain any type of alcohol, Better Health lists the beverage as a “central nervous system depressant” drug.
“Even though there is no alcohol in kava, it can produce similar symptoms to drunkenness, including difficulty with balance and slurred speech,” the organisation writes.
It also states that Kava is dangerous for some people and that you should not take Kava if you are pregnant or under 18.
Fiji Tourism also describes the drink as an “earthy elixir extracted from the dried roots of a pepper plant.”
It is most typically tried and tasted in a village “ceremony” or at local resorts.
