Ever since this year’s season of My Kitchen Rules premiered on TV, fans have been obsessed with Simone and Viviana. Not only are they hoping the ‘Modern Italians’ will win the competition, but they’re also demanding that they film their own cooking show and open a restaurant together.

As the season progresses and the pair continue to show off their skills in the kitchen, many viewers have questioned their relationship status. Despite saying they have a brother-sister dynamic in their first instant restaurant, some people have assumed Simone and Viviana are actually dating.

“Are we all sure the young Italians aren’t a couple?” one fan wrote in a popular Facebook group, while another added, “I thought he was married to Viviana?”.

“I honestly thought our beautiful Modern Italians were a couple, still think they are,” a third remarked.

“They might be together she called him ‘amore’,” someone else shared, followed by a different user who said, “There’s chemistry there if you ask me”.

Following weeks of speculation, Simone and Viviana confirmed in Monday night’s episode that they aren’t dating when he revealed he has a girlfriend.

The duo reunited with their loved ones in Brisbane ahead of their Ultimate Instant Restaurant where Simone shared a passionate kiss with a woman named Victoria.

“It was very nice to see all of our friends and Victoria, my partner. Very happy,” Simone said in his piece-to-camera interview, while Viviana added, “It was so good!”.

It’s unknown exactly how long Simone and Victoria have been dating, although he shared a loved-up post on Instagram in April alongside the caption: “Must be a dream….Wake me up!”

Many fans took to social media following the episode to express their shock and disappointment that Simone and Viviana aren’t in a relationship, however, others questioned why it was a talking point in the first place.

“What difference does it make? They are not there to bonk! They are there to cook and compete,” a viewer remarked, with someone else writing, “You don’t have to be romantically involved with someone of the opposite sex to be great friends”.

“Honestly, does it really matter? They are great people we love them, good cooks as well let’s leave it at that hey. It’s none of our business,” a fan shared.

“They’ve always said they were best friends. Watching them it’s like siblings,” another pointed out, followed by a different user who joked, “It’s all about the cooking and not relationships, it’s not The Block“.

Simone and Viviana have been friends for three years and first met when she started working at his barber. She has since opened her own barber shop, Amarsi Barbers in Brisbane, and cuts his hair weekly.

Meanwhile, Simone owns two restaurants in Brisbane – Scugnizzi Italian Street Food and Doughcraft.

The Italian-born besties made history on this year’s season of MKR when they scored an impressive 104 points out of 110 at their second Instant Restaurant.

They’ve since progressed to the top five and managed to secure their spot in the final four during Monday night’s episode when they landed at the top of the leaderboard with 68 points.
