An AFL WAG has copped flak after posting a bizarre rant about Christmas tree decorations online.

Tayla Broad, 28, took to TikTok on the weekend to complain about her daughter Samara’s skills in decorating the family Christmas tree.

In the bizarre rant, Tayla, who is the wife of Richmond star Nathan Broad, claimed that her one-year-old won’t be getting anywhere near the tree as the family sets it up for the festive season.

‘There’s mums out there that film with their children the Christmas tree set up, and I really admire them because there is no f***ing way my child’s touching my Christmas tree,’ the former Love Island Australia contestant began in her video.

‘She’s asleep and I’ve set it up exactly how I want it and she will not, she will not be helping until she’s at the age where she knows the placement because up until then, no don’t touch my Christmas tree.’

Some of Tayla’s followers appreciated the funny side of the WAG’s post, but many fans took issue with her statement.

Taking to the comments of the video, many detractors slammed Tayla for her Christmas tree rule.

‘This is so sad… some of the best memories I have are with my mum, decorating the Christmas tree… also recreating these memories with my own children – priceless!!’ said one commenter.

‘Imagine caring more about what a Christmas tree looks like than making magic and memories with your young daughter… today’s society is fu*ked,’ said another.

One more wrote: ‘This is so upsetting. I have the most fond memories growing up doing the tree with my mum and sisters taking turns each year being the one to do the star. Life is too short for this.’

However, some supported Tayla’s choice, saying they could relate to wanting a tree that looks well put together.

‘Oh I feel this so much. I’ve bought my kids their own trees for their rooms so they don’t touch mine,’ wrote one defender.

‘There are so many ways to make magic and memories. I have two trees one in my main living area which kids can not touch and then their tree. The kids find it funny am a tree snob. And like it all placed right,’ wrote another.
