Dancing with the Stars Australia 2024 is copping some major edits amid backlash after host Sonia Kruger‘s “crude” comments were called out by fans.
From joking about Nikki Osborne needing to “trim her bush” to mentioning that judge Helen Richey owns handcuffs (if you catch our drift), Sonia’s wisecracks haven’t gone unnoticed.

However, it hasn’t been for good reason.
One insider recently dished to Yahoo Lifestyle that Channel Seven has received “several complaints” about the TV veteran’s spicy jokes.
As such, the network has been forced to rework the pre-recorded show to be more palatable.
“The general feeling while the show was recorded was that Sonia could go ‘full Kruges’ for the live audiences and she would be protected in the edit, but that hasn’t seemed to have happened thus far,” the source explained.
“I don’t even think Sonia believed that these jokes were going to be seen on television.”
Dancing with the Stars audience member weighs in on Sonia Kruger’s X-rated jokes
One audience member who was present at a live taping of DWTS in early 2024 told the outlet that Sonia was “fantastic” in her role.
However, “it did feel a little like late-night television”.
“I can’t imagine all of that going to air,” they said, noting that the audience was “constantly in stitches”.
Meanwhile, viewers took to social media to slam the 58-year-old’s “smutty” commentary.
“I am not finding Sonia very funny or entertaining, her comments are disgusting!” one person online.
They added that Dr Chris Brown “made the wrong move” from Channel 10 to appear alongside Sonia.
“I’m not a prude but not a good look Channel Seven.”

Another agreed, saying that “Sonia’s smutty innuendos spoil it and discredit her”.
“Not suitable for a family-friendly show.”
Meanwhile, a third disgruntled viewer penned: “Looks like the same producers who ruined Farmer Wants A Wife [are] doing this so probably won’t be watching.”
