It comes after fans speculated Domenica and Ella were no longer friends.

We now know who ended Married at First Sight Australia 2022’s Domenica Calarco and Ella Ding‘s Sit With Us podcast and why.

The duo announced they had cancelled their controversial podcast on August 7.

It came after sources told So Dramatic! that Ella was trying to “distance herself” from Domenica in light of the backlash from their infamous episode with MAFS 2024‘s Jack Dunkley and Tori Adams.

Since then, fans have speculated that the former co-hosts are no longer besties after some telling social media activity.

As revealed in episode 410 of the So Dramatic! podcast, the rumoured fallout between the two was a major reason they ended the podcast.

“Ella has been plotting her escape from Dom for quite a while,” one source told So Dramatic!. “She got a heads up from producers during filming MAFS to align herself with Dom, and so she did.”

The source stated that Ella appeared on the marriage experiment to “become an influencer”, so it made sense for her to befriend Domenica because of her “popularity and fanbase”.

“Ella was essentially Dom’s sidekick,” they added.

Another source backed this up, stating that Domenica was “always the main character” and Ella “hated it”.

“Ella started to change big time and was making plans to exit. Their friendship had been cracking for some time,” they added.

According to our sources, when Ella became successful in her own right, she devised a plan to “continue her career without Domenica.”

Ella also felt like she was “constantly picking up the slack” and “doing all the work” due to Domenica’s “sh*t work ethic”.

“She thought Dom was bringing her down, not up anymore, so she came up with an exit strategy,” one insider dished.

“Ella knew how volatile Dom was and how easily she exploded. She had to carefully plan it to get out as unscathed as possible without Dom going postal. She was trying to break away gradually so she didn’t set Dom off.” Yikes!

However, when Ella started working on solo projects, Domenica was mad because she thought they should only do joint projects.

“That’s why Ella didn’t have Dom involved with her wedding. She hasn’t considered her a close friend for a very long time. It’s a one-sided friendship, and Ella is Dom’s only friend, whereas Ella has many friends besides Dom.”

Another source claimed that Domenica was “heartbroken” that she was left out of the loop regarding Ella’s surprise wedding.

“Ella getting married and keeping Dom out of the inside circle was the nail in the coffin,” they dished. “She did this because she didn’t want Dom to outshine her.”

When Domenica went to a mental health facility and left Ella to “pick up the pieces” from the backlash from their episode with Jack and Tori “on her own”, Ella decided to end the podcast.

“That was the final straw for Ella. Her exit plan was fast-tracked following the backlash,” one source explained.

“Dom was devastated as she wanted to keep doing the podcast. Now that there’s nothing more to gain from Dom, Ella has abandoned her in her time of need.

“Ella knew Dom would try to play the victim and twist the truth, so she’s engaging as little as possible,” they added.

The source also confirmed that the former besties “haven’t been on talking terms” since before Domenica entered the mental health facility.

This checks out because they haven’t engaged with each other’s social media posts since then, and they also haven’t posted a single thing together!

A second insider confirmed this intel, stating: “The Jack interview going wrong was a catalyst. Dom got 90 per cent of the heat, and Ella just sat quietly while Dom took a beating on social media.”

They then claimed that the former besties hadn’t “truly” spoken since Ella’s wedding

“When Dom refused to come back, the podcast was dust,” they finished.

One source added that Domenica felt “abandoned” by Ella during her stay at the mental health facility.

“Ella didn’t support Domenica because she was annoyed about having to do all the work on her own,” they recalled.

“Dom was really hurt. Her falling out with Ella also contributed to her breakdown.”

Another claimed: “Dom had lost her partner, her best friend, and it all hit home. That’s why she ended up in a ‘mental health hospital’, whilst Ella continued living her best life with her hubby, leaving Dom in the dark in her darkest hour.”
