“It revealed a few differences that weren’t really compatible for a long-term relationship.”
Farmer Wants a Wife Australia 2023‘s Andrew Coleman has revealed the real reason he broke up with Claire Saunders.
Despite falling in love on the hit reality show, the duo called off their July wedding. Claire confirmed to So Dramatic! that they’d parted ways, leading her to move to Tasmania.
However, on September 7, Claire made several shocking allegations about the farmer on social media, stating he’d followed her to Tasmania and stolen her car.

She then backtracked on these claims, telling her followers her posts were “twisted out of context” and she never felt “unsafe” in her relationship.
Then, on September 11, Andrew posted an Instagram Story of what seemed to be a wedding cake, hinting that the pair were back on.
However, on September 16, the farmer finally ended all the speculation, telling his Instagram followers that the duo had split for good.
Farmer Wants a Wife‘s Andrew Coleman says lack of ‘communication’ led to his split from Claire Saunders
During a tell-all with Woman’s Day on October 21, Andrew admitted that one reason the pair parted ways was their lack of communication.
“Claire had an extended stay in Tasmania. When she arrived back, she suggested we talk about the wedding. She asked me how I felt about it,” the farmer recalled.
“During that conversation, I expressed some doubts about getting married. I remember saying I felt like something had changed, but I didn’t know what.”

After their conversation, the 43-year-old thought everything was fine until Claire “texted him” the next day telling him she’d “cancelled the wedding” and “informed her family and friends”.
“On top of all that, Claire made the cancellation of the wedding public in a social media post on July 8, and I hadn’t even told the guests,” he added, claiming his family were “shocked”.
Despite feeling blindsided, Andrew felt that cancelling their nuptials was the right decision if the relationship “wasn’t going to work long term”.
Farmer Wants a Wife’s Andrew Coleman says he ‘CLASHED’ with Claire Saunders over ‘financial awareness’
Andrew confessed that another reason the pair broke up was because they “clashed” over “financial awareness” and “social media use”.
“It revealed a few differences that weren’t really compatible for a long-term relationship,” Andrew expressed.
He also stated he wasn’t an avid social media user like Claire.
“Her communication was strange at times.”
Farmer Wants a Wife’s Andrew Coleman addresses claims he ‘STOLE’ Claire Saunders’ car
Andrew then responded to Claire’s claims that he “stole” her car, stating that it was his and that he’d “agreed” to let her drive it.
“We agreed that she received some compensation, and given the length of her drive to Darwin, she could use the Prado that I’d recently bought, then travel back to the farm [with it] sometime in August,” he explained.

“I checked in with Claire each day while she was travelling to Darwin to say I wanted to work things out, but she said she was going to stay there until the dry season was over. Unfortunately, things continued to deteriorate from there.”
Farmer Wants a Wife‘s Andrew says things with Claire are ‘amicable’
Andrew claimed he remained in touch with Claire despite their messy breakup, claiming their conversations were “amicable exchanges”.
However, he doesn’t see them rekindling their romance in the future.
“Claire’s a special woman, but our differences were too great,” he said.
He then admitted he’d give Farmer Wants a Wife another go if the opportunity presented itself.
“If I knew the outcome would be that I’d meet my ideal partner, I’d probably give it another shot!” he gushed.
