Rob & Liam

Melbourne

Brothers Rob and Liam are sporty and competitive. Older by 18 months, Rob is a concreter, while Liam owns a bar on the Mornington Peninsula. They’re both dads to young kids. “We know each other’s role and have good communication – when we aren’t fighting!” says Liam.

Danny & Sonia

Townsville

These siblings grew up hunting and fishing, as well as cooking, in tropical Far North Queensland. Danny is a butcher and granddad who dreams of opening a kebab shop, while Sonia is a mum who runs a cleaning business. “I definitely cook from the heart and not from a book,” she says.

Ash & Cassie

Adelaide

Friends Ash and Cassie are both dietitians and mums. Ash describes herself as a “Mediterr-Asian” cook, adding Eastern flavours to Greek and Italian dishes, while Cassie co-authored the cookbook Meet The Macros. “I just want to prove to everyone that dietitians don’t have to eat boring, bland food,” Ash says.

Simone & Viviana

Brisbane

These Italian-born besties met when Viviana was working for Simone as a hairdresser. Now she has her own barber shop and he owns an Italian takeaway. Simone learnt to cook in his dad’s pizzeria, while Viviana learnt from Simone. She explains, “Simone is the head chef. I’m pretty much the dishwasher!”

Hannah & Lawrence

Perth

This cute couple have been together for 18 months. Swiss-born Lawrence is an engineer-turned-filmmaker, while viewers may recognise Hannah from the 2020 season of Australia’s Big Brother. “If we win MKR, I’m dropping on a knee,” Lawrence promises. “That’s non-negotiable!”

Mike & Pete

Perth

Longtime friends Mike and Pete share Italian heritage, as well as a passion for cooking and gardening. Both can be blunt at times, which is sure to create some drama around the MKR dinner table. “My mouth moves faster than my brain and it gets me in trouble all the time,” Mike admits.
