The Voice Australia is set to wrap up its 2024 season on Sunday night as Skÿe, Annie Jones, Reuben De Malo, and Jaedyn Randell battle it out for the grand prize of $100,000. While the coaches – Guy Sebastian, LeAnn Rimes, Kate Miller-Heidke and Adam Lambert – have decided which singers have made it this far, it will be up to Australia to vote for the ultimate winner.

The major event will be marked by the return of former coach Keith Urban, who will appear at the Grand Finale to perform his latest single Messed Up As Me’. Urban was a coach in the singing competition in 2012, 2021 and 2022, and a source has revealed to Yahoo Lifestyle that he wouldn’t be opposed to reprising his role in a future season.

When asked by The Voice‘s executive producer if he would return next year, the insider said that “the answer was not a ‘no’ and Keith revealed he “does miss coaching and being home in Australia.”

Keith Urban and his wife Nicole Kidman have a very busy schedule (Nicole alone is one of the busiest actresses in Hollywood) but they admit to always including their daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret in conversations about how to make their ‘busy work lives’ suit the whole family.

“After the loss of their grandmother last month Sunday and Faith are keen to spend more time with their cousins who are based in Sydney,” the source told Yahoo Lifestyle. “There is also a big tour for Keith in Australia next year and if they can all be back here in the country when filming gets underway Keith might make his 4th return to the singing competition.”

Nicole has been working tirelessly – with Netflix series The Perfect Couple, rom-com A Family Affair and R-rated drama Babygirl just a few of her recent projects. So she could well need a little break on an Aussie beach, just saying!

“It [Keith returning to The Voice] might be a good opportunity to have the whole family back in Australia and give Nicole a break,” the source from the reality series said. “Keith likes to keep busy and he never minded the long shoots on The Voice Australia.”

They continued, “I would go as far as saying Keith has been the most relaxed and placid judge we have had. The door is always open for him and he knows that.”

“With rumours swirling that there will be a massive shake-up next year it would be interesting to see what the dynamics between Ronan Keating and Keith would be like,” they said.

The possibility of Keith Urban making a return to the singing competition comes after another former coach – Ronan Keating – was recently spotted in Sydney in late September with his wife and kids, sparking rumours that he could be making a return to Australian TV.

“Ronan has a lot of ties to Australia and there are now rumoured to be a few irons in the fire,” a source told Yahoo Lifestyle. “There was some interest a few years back from Channel Seven to try The Voice spin-off series The Voice Australia Kids but that idea was scrapped to do The Voice Generations. I think ITV Studios Australia is still keen to bring back the ‘kids’ format and Ronan would be great on that.”
