Scott Cam has claimed controversial contestants Kylie and Brad Baker have cut communication with Channel Nine following the ‘flirtgate’ scandal.

The married couple found themselves at the centre of a cheating scandal on the show and have since been hit by claims that they have fallen out with Nine amid the controversy.

However, they were then seen laughing with The Block’s producer Julian Cress at the Melbourne Cup, prompting speculation the on-screen scandal was staged.

Now, The Block’s host Scott has spoken out about the controversy amid speculation that Kylie and Brad won’t appear at the show’s auction this weekend.

Speaking on Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie on Friday, Scott insisted the couple has cut contact with Nine, despite their friendly display earlier this week.

‘We can’t confirm anything with those guys [Brad and Kylie], because they’re not in communicado, so we’re not sure how it’s going to play out,’ he dished.

‘I don’t have communication with them because I’m doing other things, but we’ve got people at the network that do that, and they have been struggling to make contact.’

Radio host Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald then commented that it would be ‘heartbreaking’ for Brad and Kylie to give up an opportunity ‘make money’ after all their hard work.

But Scott seemed unconvinced if the couple would show, adding: ‘I’m not sure, mate, it’s pretty odd. It’s shooting yourself in the foot, I suppose.’

The on-screen drama first kicked off when Brad told co-star Mimi Belperio – who is married to Kristian – that he would follow her OnlyFans account if she had one.

The controversial conversation came as Brad and Mimi shared a drink at his house while Kylie napped beside them and kicked off the now-infamous ‘flirtgate’ scandal.

Kylie then sensationally stormed off set and threatened to ‘break the f**king camera’ if the crew kept filming in a dramatic exit, and she and Brad appeared to cut ties with Nine.

However, Kylie and Brad were then seen rubbing shoulders with Nine’s producer Julian Cress amid the supposed falling out with the network.

The pair were spotted unwinding at the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday, enjoying some drinks and a few laughs alongside Julian.

A playful video of Kylie with The Block bidder Adrian Portelli inside the G.H. Mumm marquee at the races also sparked theories that the couple will attend auction day.

Despite the shock ‘flirtgate’ scandal, the couple appeared to be very loved-up at the event after Daily Mail Australia confirmed they are still together.

Kylie sensationally split from her husband on the show following his flirtatious comments with fellow contestant Mimi.

The couple, who share four children together, saw their relationship implode when the plumber told Mimi, 28, he would ‘follow’ her OnlyFans account if she had one.

Kylie quit the show after the flirty exchange and flew home to Cairns, only to return to the Phillip Island construction site to dump her tradie husband on TV.

In another shocking turn of events during Sunday night’s episode, Kylie then stormed off set, visibly upset and declaring she was ‘done’ with the show after her brief return.

While the other teams celebrated ‘tools down’ with host Scott, Kylie was notably absent, with Brad left to relay her final order for the tradies to ‘leave it’ and ‘get out’ during their last hours of work.

In an emotional confession, Kylie revealed she initially joined The Block with hopes of financial relief, contrasting her own pay-to-pay lifestyle with her husband’s successful business.

‘We’re always working, always being parents,’ she admitted. ‘I thought we’d get a bit of a holiday here.’

According to an insider, Kylie and Brad’s departure left House Four unfinished, with much of the remaining work being completed by their builders.

Despite Kylie’s vow to boycott auction day, sources have claimed the duo would consider returning for the sale if the reserve was for the right price.

But this has allegedly fuelled resentment among other contestants, who argue the couple shouldn’t benefit financially if their property sells for above the guide price at auction.

‘There was a lot more that needed to be finished by Channel Nine after the couple quit the show,’ an anonymous contestant revealed.

‘House 4 was the least completed property, and other builders had to step in and make the final decisions.

‘It seems unreasonable not to finish your house and still be eligible for the same percentages.’

Despite the backlash, a clause in the contestants’ contracts may secure Kylie and Brad a profit from the upcoming auction.
