Rumours have been circling that long-time host Scott Cam is planning to quit The Block after his 14-year run.

Since 2010, the fan-favourite host has become integral to the hit renovation show. However, according to Woman’s Day, his time at the helm is almost up.

One insider told the outlet that whilst filming the current series, the TV presenter stated he was only on board for two more seasons, “this year and next”.

“When Jesse [Maguire] and Paige [Beechey] quit the series mid-season, it really shocked him and made him even more determined to walk away in 2025,” they dished.

“Scott holds The Block very dear to his heart and couldn’t understand why anyone would leave his hit series. It reinforced to him the idea of leaving on a high next year to spend more time with his family.”

Inside host Scott Cam’s ‘GRAND PLAN’ to leave The Block

The insider admitted that the TV personality has been planning to leave the show for a while.

“In 2023, rumours flew saying he was leaving, but they were squashed when Scott and Nine announced he’d signed a new deal,” they spilled.

“It was a two-year deal to keep him on board for this year’s 20th-anniversary series and next year’s.”

According to the source, this is why the show confirmed its 2025 Daylesford season before the current season started.

“It was part of a grand plan for Scott to leave on a high with two different and challenging seasons of the renovation show. One set on an island, the other in the country.”

ICYMI: The current season was meant to be set in Daylesford but was switched to Phillip Island after permit issues.

The insider added that Scott was “bitterly disappointed” about the switch-up because he’d been “openly telling friends that he wants to see the Daylesford season happen and then bow out graciously.”

Nine addresses rumours that host Scott Cam is QUITTING The Block

In response to the rumours, a Nine spokesperson told Woman’s Day, “Scott has no plans to step down from The Block.”

However, in 2020, Scott revealed that he will “retire at some point”.

“I love telly, and I love the job, but it’s not an essential part of my life. I’m definitely going to be going another three to four years into my early 60s,” the 61-year-old said at the time.

He also claimed he was a “family man” and wanted to spend more time with his wife, Ann, and three kids, Charlie, Bill, and Sarah.
