“Phillip Island needs a lot of work before the five new houses can go to auction.”
Long after the contestants have wrapped filming, The Block 2024’s seaside location has reportedly been left an absolute mess.
ICYMI: the hit renovation show has relocated to Phillip Island, Victoria, for its landmark 20th season and recently finished filming ahead of the late 2024 auctions.
The upcoming Blockheads have already returned to their home states. However, insiders have confessed that there’s still a sh*t-ton of work to be done on the properties. Yikes!

The Block enlists builders to ‘sort everything out’ before the show airs
A The Block insider told the outlet that builders have been enlisted to “sort everything out” before the show airs.
“Phillip Island needs a lot of work before the five new houses can go to auction,” they said “Filming with the contestants finished two weeks ago… Yet builders are still working away and completing common areas.
“All of the space between the houses is weeks away from being finished, and that is going to take some time to sort out. This often happens but this year needs quite a lot of finessing.”
A resident who lives near the set also told Yahoo Lifestyle that “it looks like a bomb site”. Eek!
The Block 2024 won’t be as ‘sweet and lovely’ as anticipated
The past few seasons of The Block were met with backlash for being too drama-focused.
It turns out that any viewers hoping for some reprieve will have to hold out hope for another year (at least).

One source told Yahoo Lifestyle that The Block 2024 isn’t going to be “as sweet and lovely” as originally planned.
“Channel Nine has been keen to tone down the show’s darker side in the edit because what happened down at Phillip Island was pretty wild,” they said.
“Some participants will lean into their villain edit, and others will shut down altogether.
“The problem is if you are pretending to be something you are not, viewers will usually see through that and hate you for something else anyway.”
Ooft, bring on Season 20!
