The Block season 20 finale ended in an explosive auction on Sunday night which saw each contestant walk away with jaw-dropping winnings.

But contestants haven’t heard the last of the good news, as couple Courtney McInnes and Grant Freeman announced they have big baby plans post-reality TV.

Taking home $1.35million after House 2 sold to Adrian ‘Mr Lambo’ Portelli for $3.3million, the lovebirds are now hoping to expand their family, reported New Idea on Monday.

‘We want to start a family! That was on the cards before The Block but we put it on hold. So, we’d love to continue doing that,’ Courtney, 32, told the publication.

The event account manager went on to say how proud she was of herself and husband-of-three-years Grant, 30, following their stint on The Block.

‘We had a vision from the start. I have no regrets about what we did—I’d do it all again tomorrow if I could,’ she said.

‘We were adamant from day one that we would always be ourselves—the good, the bad and the ugly.’

The nail-biting Block finale was the most profitable auction day in the show’s history, with all five teams taking home an eye-watering $5.43million in profits after Adrian Portelli, 35, bought all five houses in a historic move.

Courtney and Grant will have plenty of cash to splash on their future baby, as the couple came second place at the auction and became instant millionaires, taking home $1.35million.

Meanwhile, Maddy and Charlotte Harry became the youngest-ever auction winners, taking home an eye-watering $1.65million profit during the finale.

The sisters, who were latecomers to the 2024 series, secured the highest bid on the day, with their renovated Phillip Island property selling for $3.5million.

Maddy, 24, and Charlotte, 22, also took home an extra $100,000 for their monumental victory.

Kylie and Brad Baker also laughed all the way to the bank, with Adrian making another headline-grabbing purchase, securing the couple’s property for $2.6million.

They left the show with a very healthy $650,000 profit on their property’s $1,950,000 reserve, despite vowing never to return to The Block when they walked off the set last week following a controversial stint on the series.

Kristian and Mimi entered the auction with a strategic advantage, having secured a $50,000 reduction on their reserve.

Amid a flurry of bids, their property sold for $2.93million to a buyer’s agent, earning the couple an impressive $1.03million profit and making them the second team this season to become instant millionaires.

Earlier in the episode, Ricky Recard and Haydn Wise were meanwhile visibly frustrated after drawing the fourth auction spot, with Ricky declaring it the ‘worst-case scenario.’

However, Adrian once again came to the rescue, snapping up their home for $2.7million.

It comes after Adrian made a shock confession on Monday about what goes on behind the scenes of The Block, admitting the auction was rigged.

The billionaire businessman, who made history on Sunday night when he snapped up every Block home on Phillip Island for $15.03million, told Nova’s Jase & Lauren the auction order was pre-determined.

‘We hand-selected the auction order to make sure the girls [Maddy and Charlotte Harry] went last. So we can get them to win,’ Adrian began.

The Harry sisters became the youngest-ever auction winners of The Block, taking home an eye-watering $1.65million profit on Sunday night’s nail-biting finale, with their renovated Phillip Island property selling for $3.5million.

Adrian revealed it was decided their house would be the last to go to auction, in order to increase the drama.

‘The girls cared. They came in late. They were the underdogs, were picked on, were bullied,’ said Adrian, who has also declared that 2024 was his last year on The Block.

He said Maddy and Charlotte were informed in advance as to why their property would be auctioned last, adding the other contestants were kept in the dark.

‘It was just the girls [who were in on the plan]. How good is that? They are the sweetest and innocent and were playing the game the best.’

Maddy and Charlotte also took home an extra $100,000 for their monumental victory, on their four-bedroom, three-bathroom home which had a $1.85million reserve.

‘We are just so grateful, it’s a very surreal feeling. I’m so proud of both of us and how hard we worked,’ said Maddy of their win.

Charlotte added: ‘To end The Block on such a high note is so special. We never thought it would go like this. I could not have had this experience with anyone but Maddy.’

The Sydney sisters entered into the heated 20th season midway through filming, after couple Paige Beechey and Jesse Maguire threw down their tools.
