Despite not being shown on TV, the boys finally managed to complete their main ensuite bathroom.

As this year’s season of The Block approaches its end and the teams apply the finishing touches to their houses, fans have called out a rather bizarre detail in Ricky and Haydn’s property. Many viewers have questioned whether the best mates ever ended up completing the unfinished main ensuite bathroom they presented to the judges in week three.
Although they spent $13,162 on the space, Ricky and Haydn’s room was nowhere near finished when it came time to be judged by Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and Marty Fox. The boys had one of the most disastrous weeks in the history of the reality show after their water stopper was installed the wrong way, the incorrect primer was used, and the tilers damaged the plasterboard when ripping the waterproofing on the wall – all resulting in their builder being fired at the end of the week.
The judges were completely shocked walking into House 3’s bathroom, with Darren calling it a “huge shame” and Shaynna saying she “felt sick”.
Marty, who went so far as to call it “the most unfinished room in The Block history”, also said it was particularly frustrating the bathroom wasn’t completed because of its enormous potential.
“I can already see just from a planning perspective, everything is in the right spot. That would have been a double feature shower, double vanity over to the left, toilet tucked in behind the right,” he said. “What’s quite annoying is that if this was say, Monday or Tuesday and we walked in here, I would’ve actually felt quite excited for them because this sky light is amazing.”
Foreman Dan encouraged the boys to try again the following week, however, they faced a series of similar issues and weren’t able to present it at the next room reveal either.

Fans baffled by strange detail
As the weeks went on and Ricky and Haydn continued renovating their kitchen, living room, dining room and most recently, backyard, the show never addressed what ended up happening to their main ensuite bathroom.
“So does anyone know about Ricky and Haydn’s bathroom main ensuite that they didn’t finish ages ago? I would love to see what it looks like unfinished or if they even did it,” one person commented on social media.
“So the boys never got to finish that other bathroom. They’re selling with a shell of a room?” another asked, while a third added, “I’ve been wondering about that too!”.
Others also questioned if the room would feature in a ‘re-do room’ week where contestants are given the chance to fix any mistakes they made in a room of their choice. However, this week was likely cut from the schedule this season as the houses are so much bigger than in previous years.

What happened to Ricky and Haydn’s bathroom?
Despite not being shown on TV, Domain’s listing for Ricky and Haydn’s property proves that they did indeed finish their main ensuite bathroom.
The space, which is described as a “grand ensuite” in the property description, features peach subway tiles, dual drop shower heads, travertine floors and a large skylight.
It’s unknown exactly at what point the boys completed the bathroom, however, it appears they’ve taken on the judges’ feedback for their previous rooms. The dual sinks are both white rather than yellow to contrast the shower tiles, and the styling is simple yet elegant with a wooden stool and green accent towels.
If completed, the boys definitely would have had a chance at winning – or at least beating their previous score of 4 out of 30.
