An insider from The Block 2023 has shared a “really sad” update about Leah and Ash Milton‘s house, which failed to sell on auction day.

ICYMI: during the nailbiting finale on November 5, House Two was the only property to be passed in after failing to reach its reserve price under the hammer.

Eventual winners Steph and Gian Ottavio, and Eliza and Liberty Paschke, both pocketed over $1 million in profit. Meanwhile, Kyle and Leslie Cottone made a healthy $130,000, and Kristy and Brett Beams walked away with just $65,000.

It was reported just days after The Block 2023‘s final episode that Leah and Ash’s house was set to sell for $3.1 million.

However, Yahoo! Lifestyle has revealed that the couple’s made-over property has since lost all of its offers. It currently remains on the market with zero interest.

“It is a really sad outcome for the two who poured a lot into this series,” a builder who worked on The Block told the outlet.

“They really thought they had found their happy ending but this has opened a lot of wounds for them both.”

The tradie has high hopes that House Two will sell in the near future.

“2022 contestants Dylan and Jenny [Adams] didn’t sell their house until February 2023 and it would seem Leah and Ash may be looking at a similar wait,” they added.

“The property will sell, but for House Two, their Block journey is still far from over.”

Channel Nine insider says The Block 2023’s ‘petty drama’ affected contestants

A Channel Nine insider also told Yahoo! Lifestyle that the contestants who got caught up in drama were negatively affected on auction day.

“Everyone who got into the sandpit with the petty drama this season seemed to fall over at the auction, with Kyle and Leslie pretty much collateral damage as all the auctions went south [following House Three’s auction mishap],” they said.

“Viewers saw the wind change quite drastically from the moment House Three’s auctioneer revealed the reserve prices and a succession of disappointments followed. It was clear who the winners and the losers were and audiences ate that up with a spoon.” And yep, we sure did!

The source said that Nine was “pretty happy a lot of the storylines that formed throughout the year were signed off with a story tale ending”.

However, Leah and Ash hoped to make a better deal in a private sale.
