After appearing on the past two seasons of The Block, viewers weren’t too surprised to see Adrian Portelli during Sunday night’s nail-biting finale. The billionaire entrepreneur and director of LMCT+, a promotions and giveaway platform, had purchased three homes at last year’s auction including winners Steph and Gian Ottavio’s for a whopping $5 million.
This season, Adrian made history when he bought all five properties either directly or through his buyer’s agent. He splashed out $15,030,000 on the entire resort, with Maddy and Charlotte winning the season after their house sold for $3.5 million.
Adrian Portelli’s huge announcement
Following the extraordinary reveal that he had purchased each of the team’s homes – a first for The Block – Adrian made the surprising announcement that he wouldn’t be returning next season.
“That was my last appearance on The Block and I thought I’d go out with a bang,” he said. “Thanks for having me, it’s been fun.”
Fans were quite surprised by the news, with many taking to social media to question what next year’s season will look like without him.
“I do wonder where The Block goes without @adrian_portelli propping up the auctions. It would’ve been crickets without him,” one person commented, while another added, “Don’t think we’ll see as huge sales now that Adrian is bowing out”.
“Anyone feel kinda bittersweet about Adrian’s ending? He just did all that and dipped,” someone else remarked.

What does Adrian Portelli do with the homes?
While some viewers theorised that Adrian would donate The Block 2024 houses to charity or list them as Airbnbs, he revealed his surprising plan with the resort on Monday morning.
The 35-year-old is giving people the chance to win all five properties, which he has jokingly renamed ‘Portelli Town’, by entering LMCT+’s latest giveaway. The winner can either walk away with the entire Phillip Island resort or choose to receive a whopping $8 million cash tax-free in what’s been described as the biggest giveaway in Australian history.
“This is more than a giveaway; it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to launch yourself into a world of luxury, wealth, and freedom,” the website reads. “Whether you choose the properties and step into the shoes of a property mogul, with a real estate portfolio worth millions, or take the $8 million cash, your life is about to change forever.”
Entries close December 26th at 8pm AEDT and will be drawn at 8:30pm AEDT the same day via Facebook.

Who won The Block 2024?
House 1’s Maddy and Charlotte became the winners of The Block 2024 when they received $1,550,00 profit, and subsequently received the additional $100,000 prize money.
Coming in second were House 2’s Courtney and Grant with $1,300,050 profit, followed by House 5’s Kristian and Mimi in third place with $1,030,000 profit.
Fourth were House 3’s Haydn and Ricky who made $750,000 profit and coming in last, but still smiling, were House 4’s Kylie and Brad who made $650,000 profit. Kylie said the whole experience had been worth it in the end and she was very grateful.
“It was worth it,” she said. “Unfortunately. Because I was a different person here. But… we made it. We’re very grateful.”
