“We were definitely playing fair.”
The Block 2023‘s resident pot-stirrers Kristy and Brett Beams have claimed they’re “the only team that didn’t cheat” this year.
Those following along with the 19th season of the hit renovation series will know it’s been plagued by drama, particularly concerning Kristy and Brett and their former Block besties, Leah and Ash Milton.
The foursome has copped criticism en masse, and according to a recent radio interview, it appears Kristy and Brett are on the defence.

Appearing on KIIS FM’s Jase & Lauren, Kristy said they “were definitely playing fair”.
“I think the only houses that didn’t try to — well, besides that scheme to get the Mustang over the line — we’re the only team that didn’t cheat,” she alleged.
The pair then detailed how the other teams went against the rules, resurfacing drama from early in the show when Steph Ottavio‘s father appeared to help out her and husband Gian.
“Early in the stage with that first body corporate, with having Steph’s dad working on the property, for example, it is against the rules technically,” Brett explained.

“They had extra work being done on houses and stuff or bribing with alcohol to be able to get waterproofing. These are against the rules.”
About the alcohol bribing, Brett added: “That was down at House 5, they had this whole waterproofing to get approved early.”
Kirsty and Brett Beams reveal who cheated the most on The Block 2023
When Kristy and Brett were questioned on who cheated the most on The Block, they quickly said “House Five”. Which, for those playing at home, is Eliza and Liberty Paschke.
“Having your trades do 15-hour days and only paying them for 8, that’s you know…” Brett intimated.
This isn’t the first time House Three has thrown Eliza and Liberty under the bus.

They recently accused the girls of conducting a “smear campaign” against them after Eliza revealed the couple had been “toxic” in post-filming engagements.
Kristy and Brett also claimed the sisters were so awful on set that they handed the production crew “apology letters” after the show.
However, one of Eliza’s besties and former Married at First Sight bride, Carly Bower, clarified that they were appreciation notes.
Ah, gotta love a TV rivalry, hey?!
