The Voice Australia has a new look with coaches LeAnn Rimes, Kate Miller Heidke, and Adam Lambert joining series veteran Guy Sebastian.

And Channel Seven is paying big bucks for the all-star line up, Yahoo reported on Monday.

The publication has leaked the salaries of the team, with the top payout going to the new American mentors.

An alleged source claims that Adam and LeAnn ‘are believed to be receiving between $750,000 and $1.2 million’.

Less is going to Aussie Miller-Heidke, who ‘is believed to be receiving upwards of $500,000’.

Guy meanwhile started on $750,000 per season in 2019, ‘but this is believed to now be worth $1 million’.

These new judges are getting ‘considerably less’ than outgoing coaches Rita Ora and Jason Derulo, Yahoo alleges, while Jessica Mauboy was on a lower rung.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Channel Seven for comment.

According to a production insider, the reason for the switch-up was the star’s pay cheques, and a desire from producers to keep costs down.

The decision was made last year and the casting team were looking for quite some time, the insider told Yahoo Lifestyle.

The insider added that salary increases are necessary to keep returning stars on the show and the price tag for the former crop was ‘too expensive’.

‘The company line was that Jessica, Rita and Jason were all too busy, but I don’t think anyone is too busy to pick up these sorts of pay cheques.

‘It certainly did have a lot to do with keeping the costs down.’

Fans of The Voice can expect to see Guy clash with new coach Kate in upcoming episodes of the hit singing competition.

A TV insider has claimed that a genuine tension emerged between the usually mild mannered 42-year-old pop star and fellow hitmaker Kate during filming.

Kate, 42, made her debut on the singing contest last week alongside new coaches, Rimes and Lambert.

‘Bringing in two Americans like Adam, and LeAnn, producers thought there would be a battle of the countries – USA vs Australia – but the tension is between Guy and Kate, who really wanted to outdo each other in their coaching,’ the source told Now To Love.

‘They are certainly each other’s biggest rivals and the other two [Adam and LeAnn] really don’t seem to buy into that drama.’

The source also claimed that ‘producers didn’t foresee that putting two personalities like Guy and Kate up against each other would create so much tension.’

Meanwhile, another insider close to the show claimed that Kate’s highly competitive style with her co-stars is being used by producers to ‘create’ drama.
