“Well, this may seem out of the blue…”
The Voice Australia‘s Guy Sebastian has made a shock career announcement, revealing he’s joined the cast of an all-new Bollywood movie.
With The Voice 2024 premiering on August 19, the last thing we were expecting was Guy to reveal a brand new project on top of juggling a new team of upcoming superstars.
However, he did just that, confessing to his Instagram followers that the news “may seem out of the blue”.

“I joined the cast of a Bollywood movie earlier this year!” the Australian Idol 2003 winner penned of the film, titled Hindi Vindi.
“It was a surreal experience for me, working alongside a really stellar cast with iconic Bollywood actors, in my very first acting role — it was something that I will never forget.”
What is Guy Sebastian’s new movie Hindi Vindi about?
Guy, who plays a character named “James”, went on to say that he “instantly loved” the plot of the movie “as soon as [he] read the script”.
“Hindi Vindi is emotional & heartfelt, & tells the story of an Aussie-Indian boy & his musical journey,” the 42-year-old explained.
“I was also fortunate enough to write & record original songs to support the soundtrack. I am really proud of this project, & if anything at least I know I made my Indian mum proud!
“It will be released in theatres all over Australia later this year!”
In the comment section, Guy’s mum, Nellie, confirmed she was “so so proud” of her son’s new endeavour.
“You are truly gifted, but the one thing that makes me a very proud mum is that you are a beautiful human, true to yourself and always being YOU,” she wrote. Aww!
Meanwhile, former Australian Idol host Osher Günsberg asked Guy if he “[got] to do the light bulb”, a popular Indian dance move.
“My mate from Delhi showed me, and it’s a signature move now,” he added.
“I tried SO HARD to get it in, but it didn’t make the edit,” Guy confessed.
Better luck next time!
