On-set insiders have revealed that The Voice Australia is “so fake”, and we mean, it is “reality” TV after all!

The latest season of the hit singing competition is well underway, which is dredging up some buried secrets about how the show is made.

As reported in episode 311 of the So Dramatic! podcast, a listener who was “in the studio audience a few times” confessed the show is “definitely not what it seems”.

“It’s legit so fake,” they dished. “Basically, at the Blind Auditions, the producers come to talk to the coaches between every single contestant.

“I’m not 100 per cent sure what they tell them, but I’m pretty sure it’s like ‘Turn at this part of the song’, or ‘You know this person’, or ‘Ask them about this’ etc.’’

They also said the coaches “have earpieces the whole time” and that producers “tell the audience to clap and then film it”.

The source also claimed that the voting process “is a complete scam”.

“At the live shows, they say ‘Voting has opened now‘ and we are in the studios on our phones trying to vote. [But] it’s not open and then later they say it’s closed and we haven’t even been able to vote,” they recalled.

This comes after fans called out The Voice 2022 finale for being pre-recorded after viewers were under the impression they’d be voting for the “final performances”.

“Is the winner already chosen and votes do nothing?” Hmmm.

What are The Voice coaches really like?

The insider also spilled the beans about coaches from past seasons.

“[They] used to interact with the crowd so much,” they explained. However, Guy Sebastian and Joe Jonas “barely said a word to the crowd” during the seventh season.

“I kinda got the impression they were both a bit stuck up,” the source said. “Joe Jonas was edited to look like such a talkative and good coach, but at the Blind Auditions he legit said nothing.

“He just sat there.”

Certain contestants are promised a spot on the show

One source agreed that The Voice is “all so fake” after their friend went on the show.

“[They] came third,” they recalled. “She didn’t even want to audition.”

However, after producers “asked her to audition multiple times”, she finally relented.

“When they were trying to convince her, they told her if she auditioned, she’d go through to the Blind Auditions,” they revealed.
