According to Yahoo Lifestyle, Channel 10 spent “just over $1 million” to split between the star-studded teams and were divided into three pay brackets.
One source told the outlet that former Olympian Ian Thorpe was the season’s highest-paid contestant. He reportedly took home around $350,000 for his stint on the show,
TV and radio personality Peter Helliar was in the “top tier” alongside Ian. He is reportedly the second-highest-paid participant, although the amount he made is unknown.
However, during an appearance on The Kyle & Jackie O Show, host Beau Ryan teased that Peter was on “a few hundred thousand”. Must be nice!
How much was the rest of the cast of The Amazing Race 2024 paid?
In the “second tier” are musician Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Matildas players Chloe Logarzo and Emily Gielnik, former AFL athlete Billy Brownless and martial artist Tai ‘Bam Bam’ Tuivasa.
This tier reportedly made around $50,000 to $70,000 from their appearance on the show.
Lastly, in the “third tier” are reality stars Cyrell Paule and Eden Dally, model Jett Kenny, comedian Luke McGregor, DJ Havana Brown and singers Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley.
This group reportedly took home up to $50,000 each.
However, the insider spilled that Cyrell and Eden negotiated a higher pay because they were signed on just weeks before filming to replace NRL icon Matty Johns and his son, Cooper.
