LEBRON James made a surprise appearance at the Celtics-Cavaliers playoff game, and ESPN was able to figure out why he was there.

On Tuesday’s episode of Get Up, NBA reporter Brian Windhorst gave his explanation as to why LeBron was in Cleveland.

“LeBron arrived just to come it at the first timeout, to make a grand entrance on stage,” Windhorst said.

“I had general managers sending me my own meme saying ‘what is going on in Cleveland.’

“The first I thought of, the first thing that came to my mind when this happened was ten years ago when LeBron came back.”

Windhorst is referencing when LeBron went to Cleveland for a jersey retirement ceremony while he was on the Heat and then resigned with the Cavs just months later.

However, Windhorst doesn’t think that is the case this time.

“Let me just say this, I have been told the reason LeBron was in Cleveland is because he and Savannah were there for mother’s day,” Windhorst said.

“Rich Paul, who was also at the game and represents several Cavaliers, called the Lakers and said ‘Just so you know, LeBron is going to be coming to the game tonight’ so they weren’t surprised.”

NBA fans had plenty of their own conspiracies surrounding LeBron’s appearance, and shared their thoughts on social media.

“Where there is smoke there’s usually fire,” one fan said.

“What could this mean?” another fan said.

“Everything Bron does is calculated. This was very calculated. Maybe this means he wants to come back to Cleveland,” a third fan said.

“It’s nothing but definitely could be something. This is Lebron we’re talking about ladies and gentlemen. lol,” a fourth fan said.

“Yeah Lebron going back to the Cavs,” a fifth fan said.

LeBron is set for an interesting offseason, as he hasn’t committed to the Lakers for the 2024-25 season.

His son, Bronny, is entering the draft this year and LeBron has previously expressed a desire to play with him in the NBA.

Bronny had a solid NBA combine performance, and is on track to be drafted by a team this year, the question is what team and if LeBron will follow him.

It seems likely that the Lakers draft Bronny to pair up with his dad, but a number of other teams could try to swipe him to get a chance at having LeBron on their squad.
