THE son of basketball icon LeBron James is expected to provide a huge boost to the G League.

Bronny James, 19, is bound to create attention wherever he goes as he prepares for what he hopes is a career in the NBA.

And ESPN’s senior NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski has given some insight to the impact he could have on the minor league.

“Bronny is going to have an impact for organizations, not just on the basketball side, but on the business side,” he said.

“He will pack G League arenas, merchandising.

“All of those make him an attractive player, whether it’s late first round or second round.

“I think certainly his opportunity to play in the NBA is there.”

Fans were quick to have their say on X, the site formerly known as Twitter.

“LAKER. It’s already set in stone,” one fan commented.

“Bronny will be a late round pick and take 2-3 years to develop but will be a solid pro,” one fan predicted.

“Caitlin Clark of the G League,” was the comment from another poster.

“I hope Bronny does really well, I’ll be watching,” another fan said.

Meanwhile, James’ official height at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine has been revealed at 6-foot-1.

That is three inches shorter than previously claimed.

The 19-year-old guard, who has played college basketball for USC for one season, was listed at 6-foot-1 without shoes.

That is noticeably lower than the 6-foot-4 height on his USC bio page.

Time for LeBron to retire?

“At the end of the day, I hate to say it, but I believe this in my soul right now – I wish LeBron James would retire.

“Not because I don’t want to see more of LeBron James, not because I don’t appreciate LeBron James.

“But I honestly believe deep down inside, the more LeBron James continues to play the game of basketball, the more it’s going to hurt his legacy and the more it’s going to continue to hurt his GOAT argument.

“As long as he steps foot on that floor, every single season, there’s gonna expectations of him winning a championship.

“And when he don’t do that, we’re gonna be looking at him saying: ‘Well what happened now?'”

Bronny is forging his own path in the game, but it’s inevitable that talk of his legendary father will never be too far away.

LeBron, who is currently with the Los Angeles Lakers, is four times an NBA champion.

The 39-year-old small forward/power forward is widely considered to be one of the greatest NBA players of all time.

Bronny, who last year suffered a cardiac arrest, this week dismissed any idea he was thinking about playing with his famous dad.

“I would be happy about getting to the league instead of me thinking about playing with my dad. That’s not my mindset at all,” Bronny said.

“My dream has always just been to put my name out, make a name for myself and, of course, get to the NBA. I never thought about playing with my dad.”
