LeBron James has once again set the NBA rumor mill ablaze with his recent appearance at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, attending game 4 between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics. Despite not playing, the 39-year-old proved he remains a headline act, commanding attention wherever he goes.
While fans welcomed him with open arms, speculation about his future with the Los Angeles Lakers has intensified. Following the Lakers’ disappointing playoff exit, reports suggest the franchise is eager to retain James. Some even suggest they might draft his son, Bronny James, to sweeten the deal.
On “Unsportsman Like Radio,” NBA insider Brian Windhorst added fuel to the fire, suggesting LeBron is up to something. “He’s extremely strategic and I wish I could tell you I knew exactly what he is doing,” Windhorst shared. “I don’t pretend to know, but he’s gotta be up to something,” warned the reporter.

Windhorst referenced a similar situation from a decade ago when LeBron, then with the Miami Heat, attended a Cleveland game and later returned to the Cavaliers, offending head coach Pat Riley. However, Windhorst believes Lakers owner Jeanie Buss would not react the same way as Riley did back then.
Rich Paul, LeBron’s agent, reportedly informed the Lakers in advance of his Cleveland visit. While a reunion with the Cavs may be challenging due to salary cap constraints, LeBron’s move is seen as a tactic to pressure the Lakers.
