Not seeing the Warriors compete in the playoffs somehow seems wrong. After all, we are so used to watching them dominate for the last ten years. But, with them missing the postseason, yet again, it is starting to become evident that the mighty dynasty might be nearing a bitter end.

Moreover, the aging core players and uncertainty about Klay Thompson have left many wondering what the future holds for the franchise.

So, in a desperate attempt to save the Warriors from their ambiguous future and likely rescue the storied dynasty, Bay Area’s faithful Marc Grandi had bold advice for Golden State’s biggest superstar, Stephen Curry.

Discussing the quickest route for the Warriors to put their awful season in the rear-view mirror and become Championship contenders again during the Willard & Dibs radio show, Grandi said, “I don’t want the Golden State Warriors to trade Steph Curry.

I would never want that to happen… That said, I think the quickest and most sure path for the Warriors to be competitive again is if Steph goes to the front office and says, ‘trade me.’”

Admitting that Steph might have given Grandi some of the best moments of his life, and knowing how emotionally devastating it would be for the fans if Steph left Golden State, Grandi claimed that the Warriors would never even consider trading the Baby-Faced Assassin because of what he means to the franchise and the city.

However, Grandi believes that the Warriors won’t turn into legitimate Championship contenders anytime soon, not while Steph is still on the team.

So, Curry might need to look at the bigger picture and give the Warriors a chance to rebuild, maybe the way OKC did, and voluntarily leave the team to pursue his fifth ring somewhere else.

Will Stephen Curry’s trade solve the Warriors’ problem?

“Do not hinder your ability to be good in the future by chasing something fleeting.” Marc Grandi’s advice to Stephen Curry and the Warriors might upset the die-hard Bay Area fans, but the young broadcaster might have a point.

Even if Steph, who is 36 years old, stays in Golden State for some more years, it still doesn’t change the fact that the Warriors do not have many assets to build a championship-level squad around him.

Moreover, by trading away aging superstars who are arguably past their prime, like Klay, Draymond, and CP3, the Warriors might not get enough in return to compete with teams like Denver or even the Timberwolves.

And if the Warriors do not make any big moves and wait for their superstars to retire and ride off into the sunset, they will have to start from scratch, with practically no assets, to become good again for a long time.

So, as delusional as it may sound, if Steph asks for a trade, it will put the pressure off the Warriors’ front office. And with him still playing at an elite level and because of his superstardom, the Warriors can get some valuable assets in his exchange.

Maybe not as good as the Thunder received for trading away Paul George, who struck a gold mine by bagging a future MVP candidate like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and multiple first-round picks.

But it could still help the Warriors become good again in two to three years. Meanwhile, Steph could use his leverage to move to a team of his liking, where he can actually compete for another title right away.

As he said after getting eliminated from the play-in tournament, “I just want to win and whatever that means, I wanna win.” This might be the best way for him to accomplish his goal.
