Jaylen Brown hails TJ McConnel

The Indiana Pacers’ hopes of clinching the NBA trophy were shattered as they suffered their fourth straight defeat against the Boston Celtics in Game 4, culminating in a series sweep of 0-4. However, amidst the disappointment, the Celtics’ standout player, Jaylen Brown, extended a helping hand to the Pacers’ point guard, TJ McConnell.

Brown went beyond the rivalry on the court and offered support to McConnell, who had fought tirelessly throughout the series. He passionately lauded McConnell, strikingly comparing him to one of basketball’s greatest legends, Michael Jordan.

“When I was talking about guys being Michael Jordan, TJ McConnell was who I was talking about,” Brown said.

McConnell’s performance in Game 4 was notable regardless of his team’s failure. He played 25 minutes and contributed 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 15 points.

Meanwhile, McConnell made history in the Conference Finals, averaging 15.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in just 24.1 minutes per game. He became the first player in NBA history to average over 15 points per game while playing less than 25 minutes per game in a Conference Finals series.

 

Jaylen Brown Addresses Foul Play on TJ McConnell

During Game 4 between the Boston Celtics and the Indiana Pacers, an unexpected incident occurred involving Jaylen Brown and TJ McConnell. Brown inadvertently hit McConnell in the face while attempting to make a play on the ball.

Pacers fans were FURIOUS that Jaylen Brown wasn’t assessed a flagrant for this hard foul on TJ McConnell.

Following the game, Brown addressed the situation, stating it was simply part of it.

“The game is so fast. I was just trying to make a play on the ball. I have tremendous respect for TJ McConnell. TJ’s a dog. He’s one of the more unstoppable players on that team,” Brown explained.

The incident happened with 7:23 left in the game when McConnell secured a rebound. McConnell was seen lying on the floor, slamming his hand in distress, prompting players from both teams to rush to his aid. Despite the hard foul, Brown was not assessed a flagrant foul, which surprised many.

McConnell, who received bizarre praise from Josh Hart, did not leave the game after the incident. He continued to play until the Celtics’ sweep ultimately dashed the Pacers’ hopes of reaching the NBA Finals.
