The Block host Scott Cam delivered a ‘disappointing’ update on Monday night, revealing to the other teams that contestants Kylie and Brad aren’t returning to the show. The news came following Kylie’s dramatic exit from the show on Sunday night, where she promised she wouldn’t return for the auction, even if it meant she and Brad got no money.

The pair exited the competition after Kylie discovered Brad had flirted with fellow contestant Mimi. Understandably, she was devastated and left for a short period of time, only to come back and snap at anyone who tried to help her before once again leaving.

During the judging, Kylie and Scott butted heads after she told him to ‘wrap’ up his feedback on their yard.

“Kylie, I’m not going to wrap it up because this is part of the deal, unfortunately. I’m reading out feedback, the last feedback from the judges that you’re going to get on your houses so I’d really appreciate it if you didn’t tell me to wrap it up,” he responded.

“I really couldn’t care,” she hits back.

One viewer described the episode as “one of the most uncomfortable things I’ve ever seen on TV”. And they’re not wrong!

Scott rallied the troops on Monday night’s episode and sombrely told them, “Kylie and Brad are not returning,” adding they would obviously not be returning for the final challenge. The winner of the Clubhouse challenge will receive $50,000 off their reserve price.

Ricky tells the cameras, “Kylie and Brad were our best mates on The Block, but to get to the very end and let that be the last thing that you do, I can’t help but think that she will regret it.”

“I can believe Kylie and Brad have left. When Kylie makes her mind up, she makes her mind up and there’s no changing that,” Grant added.

“I feel like the last 12 weeks have been a slog, but this is meant to be a fun week, so I’m like, you’ve missed the best week almost, so it was a bit of a shame,” Charlotte said.

Mimi, who was at the centre of the flirting scandal awkwardly said, “What can you do, that’s their decision. It’s a bit disappointing.”

The Block seemingly has a ‘secret clause’ that has been revealed by one of the teams after rumours contestants Kylie and Brad will skip the auction. Despite the couple leaving for good this week, they will still be eligible to keep their prize money after the auction despite not finishing the series, leaving the other teams outraged.

“If that property sells for over the price guides and they haven’t attended the auction – most of the other contestants think the couple shouldn’t be able to collect any of the money the house makes,” a TV insider tells Yahoo Lifestyle.

There were still nine days of filming scheduled when Kylie and Brad quit the show, and the rest of the houses were all aware that the couple’s reasons for leaving were quite serious but at that stage everyone was fatigued.

Speaking about Kylie and Brad leaving the show, one team tells us, “I think it felt like a dream and we were all so tired that we weren’t thinking that they should be made to stay.

“Ask anyone who has been on any reality show that shoots for 12 weeks and they will tell you it’s always on your mind that you might just walk off set and not return.”

One contestant was outraged, saying, “There was a lot more that needed to be finished by Channel Nine after the couple quit the show. House Four was the least completed property and other builders just finished it off and made a lot of the remaining decisions.”

They added, “It seems unreasonable not to finish your house and still be eligible for the same percentages.”

At a Channel Nine event in Sydney last week, rumours began spreading that Kylie and Brad will be no-shows at the auction, which is filmed on November 9th.

“I think that the finale will be dramatic with or without them,” a producer tells us. “Everyone is invited back and everyone has been offered the same arrangements but it really will be a case of no one really knowing if Kylie will turn up, except Kylie.”
